Our privacy policy sets out JB Morrison’s policy on the collection and use of personal information in relation to this website and the lawyer-client relationship. 

 

As you browse the JB Morrison website no personally identifiable information about you is collected.  We do collect anonymous information on our visitors and their activity on our site for the purposes of providing a better and more targeted service.   In particular, the JB Morrison website uses “Cookies” and collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.  In continuing to use this website you agree to us using this information for this purpose and we retain the right to share this information responsibly with third parties.

If you use an email link to contact us, then we will collect and hold personal information that you provide to us including your name, email address, contact telephone numbers and any information contained in your correspondence.

If you engage us as your lawyers we may use the client information we hold about you to provide you with legal services and to inform you about issues and developments that may be of interest to you. We may also use this information to obtain credit references or other references about you, including those we are legally required to obtain, and we may give the information to debt-collection agencies if you have not paid a bill when it is due, or to other agencies in order to fulfil our legal requirements, including those under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.  You authorise us to obtain from any person or to release to any person, any information that is necessary for those purposes, and you also authorise any person to release any information to us that we require for those purposes.

Confidential information concerning you will as far as practicable be made available only to those within our firm who are providing legal services for you. We will of course not disclose to you confidential information which we hold in relation to any other client.

JB Morrison may also use personal information held about you for specific purposes that you authorise or as is required or authorised by the law of New Zealand Law Society’s Rules of Professional Conduct.

You have the right to access and correct personal information about you, held by JB Morrison.
