Experience

Philip works within the dispute resolution litigation practice of Morrison Kent.  He has ongoing involvement in High Court litigation, alternative dispute resolution & human resources/employment issues.

At present Philip is extensively involved in insurance & employment issues (particularly in the retail sector).  However Philip still continues to advise and act for clients on a range of commercial disputes, media & consumer/competition issues.

Philip’s legal work has included involvement in the Wairarapa Electoral Petition, a successful $1.75m judgment against BP Oil (NZ) Ltd; A $20m claim in relation to Matakana Island; insider trading proceedings in relation to the BNZ; interlocutory injunctions in relation to substantial insurance fraud, employment law cases in the Employment Court, Employment Relations Authority and the Court of Appeal.

Philip joined Morrison Kent in 1986 and is currently the managing partner.  Philip acts as a professional trustee for a number of his clients and has been actively involved in his local community trust organisations & schools.  Philip is a past council member of the ADLS.
